TURKEY - A new independent exhibition aimed at the hotel spa and wellness travel industries will launch in Istanbul next year.
Organised by creator Richard Joslin, ItSpa will run from 19 to 21 February 2012 at the Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre Lufti Kirdar and will follow a system of focused pre-scheduled appointments between buyers and suppliers.
“There are so many hotels out there with fabulous spas, but they aren’t monetising them,” Joslin told EW. “If we can deliver buyers that pre-book rooms and spa treatments then there’s certainly a market for that.”
“ItSpa will help hotels to increase their ROI beyond just the sale of a bedroom and for buyers this is extremely attractive as they can develop new and exciting packages for clients.”
Joslin has worked in the exhibition industry for 14 years, with organisers including Reed, Mack Brooks and Emap.
International organisers ITE and Tarsus have both told EW about plans to pursue business in Turkey.
