Reed to co-locate Shanghai electronics and lighting shows

CHINA - Reed Exhibitions Greater China is co-locating its eco-friendly lighting event Green Lighting Shanghai with an electronics manufacturing event following a successful debut in Shanghai.

The B2B event, which attracted 5,000 exhibitors, showcased environmentally friendly manufacturing equipment, materials and applications in LED lighting technologies and products.

Reed claims eco-friendly energy solutions play an increasingly influential role both in China and globally, adding that the need has grown for an ‘authoritative’ trade fair for Chinese LED manufacturers.

As a result, Green Lighting China and Reed’s electronics manufacturing event Nepcon China, which allegedly grew its sold exhibition space by 21 per cent, will be held concurrently in 2012 at the Shanghai World Expo Venue.

The decision to co-locate marks an effort by Reed to consolidate the position of Reed Exhibitions China’s exhibitions in the Chinese lighting and electronics sector.

Nepcon China drew 19,500 visitors and 500 exhibitors from 22 countries to its May 2011 edition, according to Reed.

“The show proved a great way for us to launch new products, manage customer relationships and expand our sales channels,” said account manager at Fuji Machine Manufacturing Yohei Sato. “It’s why we choose NEPCON China to introduce new products to the Asian market.”
