Amsterdam floats new event for water sector

NETHERLANDS – A new event for the international water sector has been scheduled for the end of the year.

Due to take place at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre between 29 October and 4 November 2011, International Water Week is pitched as ‘the first event to deal with integrated solutions covering the entire water cycle’.

This six-day event for the water industry includes the international Aquatech Amsterdam water technology trade exhibition and the Aquaterra conference, as well as an extensive conference and workshop programme on water in the cities of the future.

The forum is being organised by the Royal Netherlands Water Network (KNW) and Waternet, together with Amsterdam RAI, the International Water Association and the Netherlands Water Partnership.

Waternet and KNW’s contribution includes five conferences on topical issues in the field of water technology and water management, bringing together businesses, not-for-profit organisations, government agencies and scientists to explore practical solutions to various global water issues.

The Netherlands has a long tradition of sharing expertise in water related solutions through cross-border peer-to-peer cooperation among water companies, also known as Water Operator Partnerships.

Earlier this year Aquatech India was given official support from the Ministry of Urban Development of the Government of India.
