Duck gets bigger billing at UBM Asia

HONG KONG - UBM Asia has promoted Michael Duck to executive VP.

Duck (pictured), who is an executive board director at global exhibition organiser association UFI, has played a major role in the growth of UBM Asia since its establishment in 1994.

He formerly served as senior VP at UBM Asia.

In the last five years Duck helped grow UBM India into a US$20m revenue business, and was particularly involved in the growth of UBM Asia’s business in the maritime, beauty and leather/fashion sectors.

His ambassadorial duties have seen him drive the sustainability and health and safety agenda within the global exhibition industry in his capacity as chairman of the respective UFI committees. He also serves as chairman of the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA).

Michael will continue to be based in the Hong Kong regional headquarters office reporting to Jimé Essink, president and CEO of UBM Asia, and therewill be no changes in the organisation structure of the company.

UBM recently acquired the business and assets of AMB Exhibitions and AMB Events in Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines on behalf of UBM Asia.
