Informa reports continued growth

WORLD - International exhibition organiser Informa has reported organic revenue growth of 6.7 per cent in its events portfolio since the end of 2010.

The growth represents further recovery in light of the recession.

“We have had a strong start to the year despite a global economic environment which remains variable,” said Informa CEO Peter Rigby. “All three of our divisions are launching new products or titles, seeking bolt-on acquisitions and are well placed to grow further.

“With three quarters of our publishing activities now digital and growth continuing in the emerging markets, we remain confident about the prospects for Informa in 2011 and beyond.”

According to the company’s interim management statement for the four months to 30 April 2011, the pound-to-dollar exchange rates have a significant effect on the reporting of profits in the UK, with every cent movement equaling about £1m in full-year operating profit. About 40 per cent of the company’s sales are in the US. The average rate at the end of April was $1.61 per pound, and $1.51 perpound for the full financial year.
