EPOC Messe Frankfurt staffs up for regional push

MIDDLE EAST - Exhibition and event organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt (EMF) has expanded its Middle East office as it gears up to increase its regional footprint.

As the Middle East subsidiary of Germany’s Messe Frankfurt Group, EMF has taken on more personnel in response to an increased demand for tradeshows in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) and the wider Middle East.

The German organiser, which has more than 1,770 employees worldwide, has been operating in Dubai since 2002.

“The region, being a high-growth area, is a promising market for manufacturers, distributors, industries and service providers worldwide,” commented EMF CEO Ahmed Pauwels.

“We have grown alongside the region by adding sector-specific shows to our portfolio in line with market demand. As the need for specifically tailoredtrade events increases in the wider region, and companies look to break into new markets, we have decided to expand our presence to better address the needs of the market.”

During 2010 EMF acquired more office space and grew its staff by a quarter in search of a comprehensive regional sales partner network. The expansion means the company is now responsible for all outward sales across the GCC for all Messe Frankfurt shows.

EMF currently organises nine tradeshows in Dubai, including Automechanika Middle East, Intersec tradeshow and conference, Beautyworld Middle East, Hardware and Tools Middle East, Light Middle East, Paperworld Middle East and  Playworld Middle East.
