HONG KONG - Business-to-business media company Global Sources has extended a contract with AsiaWorld-Expo Management (AWE) to host more of its China Sourcing Fairs at its exhibition venue from 2011 to 2014.

Under the terms of the latest contract, valued at US$3.5m, Global Sources will host new Medical and Health Products and Solar and Energy Savings Products shows in the spring of 2011 through 2014. The company will also add six Fashion Accessories, Underwear and Swimwear and Garments and Textiles events during the fall of 2011 and 2012 and during the spring and fall of 2013 and 2014.

The latest deals follows contracts announced last year, representing a total gross value of US$16.7m.

“Extending our contracts with AsiaWorld-Expo continues the expansion of Global Sources’ high quality, face-to-face tradeshows,” Global Sources chairman and CEO Merle A. Hinrichs said. “The AsiaWorld-Expo is Hong Kong's pre-eminent exhibition facility. Its location, configuration flexibility and services are unique. We are proud to call it home for our highly specialised China Sourcing Fairs.”

Global Sources also flagged plans to launch 60 digital tradeshows over the next 12 months to complement live events across China.
