NMW counters manufacturing contraction with broader event

AUSTRALIA - Reed Exhibitions is expanding the scope of its National Manufacturing Week 2011 (NMW) with a new co-located plastics event.

The event, co-located again with technology exhibition Austech, will for the first time include the triennial Ausplas international plastics industry exhibition.

The 2011 event includes an expanded seminar programme and solid marketing strategy, and retains its 10 industry-specific Product Zones that make it easier for exhibitors and buyers to connect.

“We’re acutely aware that key indexes, such as the AIG/PwC Performance of Manufacturing Index for January, which showed manufacturing activity fell over the last five quarters, indicate just how much pressure manufacturers are facing,” said NMW exhibition director Paul Baker.

“With this in mind, we are focusing on helping participants to make the most of sales opportunities at National Manufacturing Week.”

Sydney recently announced it was investing AU$7bn (US$7.08bn) in new infrastructure to attract business events.
