AIME hosted buyer pre-tour unaffected by Victorian flooding

AUSTRALIA - Reed Travel Exhibitions, organiser of the Asia-Pacific meetings and incentives tradeshow AIME, has said its pre-event touring for hosted buyers and press has not been affected by the flooding around the Victorian state.

The Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau, which jointly hosts the annual tradeshow on 15-16 February, says it expect its programme, which will offer delegates a taste of events facilities in regional areas of Victoria, to continue as planned.

Reed claims to have 33 per cent more pre-registered visitors for its 2011 show at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre year-on-year. Over half (51 %) of its confirmed hosted buyers are new to the show.

International hosted buyers numbers have broken the organiser’s previous record, with 174 buyers due to attend the two-day show (25% up year-on-year). Of those, six per cent more Asian buyers and 50 per cent more buyers from the US are set to attend.
