Asian Tourism Forum rolls into its 30th year

CAMBODIA – The 30th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) kicked off in Phnom Penh today, uniting 1,600 heads of national tourist organisations with tourism ministers, travel suppliers and agents with international buyers, media and other tourism professionals from around the world.

The exhibition element, ATF Travex, which spans just short of 8,500sqm, is a three-day trade expo featuring 518 booths from 434 exhibiting companies from the 10 ASEAN countries. More than 442 international buyers will attend the event, showcasing the largest contingent of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) sellers.

According to reports, exhibitor numbers at the event are up by 100 year-on-year.

The ASEAN Tourism Conference (ATC), the educational front of ATF, takes place on 19 January. This year the event will focus on the fields of ecotourism and sustainable tourism, aimed at equipping and inspiring ATF delegates with the knowledge to foster sustainable ASEAN destinations.

The event runs from 15 to 21 January 2011 at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
