GERMANY - Fitness show FIBO will take place in Cologne from 2013, moving from Essen for access to larger exhibition space.
This year’s edition of the show, held from 14 to 17 April, will occupy 75,000sqm, taking up all available ground-level halls in the Essen venue. Since 2005, exhibitor numbers have grown from 339 to 561.
From 2013 onwards the show aims to occupy at least 86,000sqm, using the new halls six to nine at Koelnmesse, which were completed in 2006.
“In FIBO, an international top event returns to Cologne where it had already been held from 1985 to 1990,” said Koelnmesse CEO Gerald Böse. “We will strive hard to give the best possible support to FIBO in its further expansion in Cologne.”
Germany’s exhibition association AUMA has reported expectations of moderate growth in the country’s exhibition business in the year to come.
