NurnbergMesse shows record growth

GERMANY - NürnbergMesse has reported a leap in both revenue and profit for 2010 compared to 2009, exceeding forecasts made in summer 2010.

Revenue was more than €200m (US$262m), and profit was €7m. Events revenue rose 23 per cent to €86m, exhibition services rose 80 per cent to €47m, while international events were up 90 per cent to €18m and guest events rose 10 per cent to €39m.

The only drop in revenue was seen by the Congress Centre Nürnberg, which recorded a 20 per cent drop in business to €10m.  “This is due solely to the fact that one of our three congress centres was not available for half the year,” said NürnbergMesse MD Bernd Diederichs. Construction is scheduled to be completed on the new Mitte area in the New Year.

Messe Frankfurt also reported record-breaking results, seeing its best-ever sales figures in 2010.
