SINGAPORE – UK-based exhibition organiser UBM Live will launch an edition of its Informex brand in Singapore next year.
The inaugural chemical exhibition and conference Informex Asia will take place on 9 and 10 November 2011 at Suntec in Singapore. The format will be similar to the flagship Informex USA event, featuring around 100 exhibitors, a conference element and other networking opportunities.
Topics for discussion will include the Southeast Asian chemical market, the transportation and distribution of chemicals, new technologies and initiatives, sustainability, and government regulations.
In August UBM announced the launch of Informex in Brazil.
The event is endorsed by the Singapore Tourism Board, the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Singapore Chemical Industry Council. It will coincide with UNESCO’s International Year of Chemistry 2011.
“While developed countries still corner nearly 59 per cent of the specialty chemicals market, the growth in the US and Europe is just 2-3 per cent compared to Asia at 10-15 per cent,” said Krithika Tyagarajan, research director for chemicals, material and food practice for Asia Pacific at Frost and Sullivan.
