Paris touts for UK business at French embassy

UK - The Paris Region Economic Development Agency (PREDA) is courting UK business after it hosted organisers from the fashion and home design industries at the French ambassador’s residence in London.

The event, supported by Promosalons UK and opened by French ambassador to the UK Maurice Gourdault Montagne, enabled British industry professionals to meet French fashion and home design tradeshow organisers to discuss the vital role the Paris tradeshows play in highlighting and showcasing new trends.

Jean-Luc Margot Duclot, senior VP at PREDA, used the event to underline Paris’s position as a gateway to the European market.

“Each year over 3,100 British companies exhibit at French tradeshows, which attract more than 55,000 visitors from the UK,” he said. “Quality is paramount and the Paris region has developed new initiatives to make international exhibitors and visitors coming to the Paris Region trade shows feel at home.”

PREDA also used the event to reaffirm its Welcome Pack, a range of free services implemented by the Regional Tourist Board and its partners, venue conglomerate Viparis and Aéroports de Paris, to assist organisers and visitors attending Parisian events.
