Thailand to bid for 2020 World Expo

THAILAND – The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has confirmed it will bid for the 2020 World Expo when bidding opens next year.

The three cities at the centre of the bid are Chonburi (Pattaya), the northern city Chiang Mai and the former capital Ayutthaya.

This year's World Expo in Shanghai was visited by 73 million people, according to the Chinese Government. The next event will be held in Milan, Italy, in 2015.
