Tarsus to deliver Abu Dhabi Al Ain Aerobatic show

ABU DHABI - Tarsus has entered a long-term agreement to run the Abu Dhabi-based Al Ain Aerobatic Show from 2011.

The deal was struck between the UK-based organiser and the Abu Dhabi Tourist Authority (ADTA) this week. The eight-year old show takes place annually in late January/February and attracts more than 100,000 visitors. The 2011 event will run on 2-5 February.

Al Ain is the ancestral home of the Abu Dhabi royal family and the show is run in partnership with the UAE Airforce. It was previously organised in-house. Tarsus MD Doug Emslie told EW the organiser was selected for its experience in the sector through its Dubai Airshow.

“Our intention is to internationalise the event and take it to next level,” he said, adding that the contract is a key step to building Tarsus’ business in Abu Dhabi and in developing strong relationships with the Government.

According to Tarsus’ latest financial report, the company is trading in line with expectations despite setbacks in France and construction delays with Dubai airport.
