GERMANY – Messe Cologne is launching a new urban development exhibition to trade on the success of the recent World Expo in Shanghai.
The new exhibition, Urban Tech, “will pick up the theme of urban development that has been widely interpreted by many countries and organisations in the year of Expo”, according to MD of Messe Cologne International Dirk van der Coelen.
‘Better City, Better Life’ was the motto of the World Expo 2010, which focused on how every country can tackle the challenges of urban development.
Urban Tech, planned for November 2011, targets exhibitors looking to present ideas and solutions on issues including environmental and climate protection in large cities.
Van der Coelen told Chinese news agency Xinhua that urban development has become a theme of global importance, and particularly relevant to China.
