Former UBM director heads up ITE Group international sales

UK - Restructuring ITE Group’s international sales operations in London is on the top of the list for newly-appointed sales director, Andy Braid.

The former UBM Live employee has switched horses after 17 years to take up the newly-created role of international sales director with ITE Group. He said his key focus was to provide senior-level support to the organiser’s expanding international business.

“My short-term priorities are to restructure the international sales operation in London so that we can grow revenues for our events in emerging markets,” he told EW. Longer term, Braid will look to further develop ITE’s international sales network.

“We have a strong network of sales offices and agents worldwide and there are plenty of opportunities to strengthen this further still,” he said. ITE’s expansion strategy includes plans to take advantage of the rebounding exhibition and event conditions in Russia.

Braid was most recently group director across UBM’s Interiors Division. Having spent so long with the organiser, it was time for change and fresh challenge, he said.

“I became aware of an opening at ITE and it struck me as an exciting opportunity with huge growth and development potential,” he said. “The company’s structure allows it to be nimble and act fast, which I also found very appealing especially as we seek to grow the business.”

UBM Live has appointed former event and business development director, Cathy Oates, as its new group Interiors Division director.
