Snow equipment expo takes to the slopes

GERMANY - The international sport business exhibition ISPO 11 is expanding its offer to include an outdoor testing event for manufacturers of new winter clothing and equipment.

Immediately after next year’s ISPO trade exhibition, held at Messe Munich on 6-9 February, 2011,  the organiser is holding a test event at the Hintertux Glacier, Austria, to give exhibitors and buyers a chance to test the latest winter sports products outdoors.

The ISPO On Snow Demo gives international retailers and dealers who are not linked to any associations the opportunity to try out and put to use demo products introduced at the tradeshow.

The event is hoped to provide “a comprehensive, hands-on overview of new products and innovations, simplifying product selection and allowing retailers to relate first-hand experiences to their customers”, according to an ISPO spokesman.

The Freeski-oriented event brings together 20 winter sports equipment manufacturers, both well-known and emerging brands, offering more than 500 products including skis and snowboards, winter apparel and accessories.
