Cliff Wallace inducted into convention industry council Hall of Leaders

USA – The MD of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Cliff Wallace, is to be inducted into the Convention Industry Council's (CIC) Hall of Leaders.

The induction ceremony, to be held during the 2011 Hall of Leaders Gala held in Baltimore next June, awards the most influential leaders and innovators in the venue industry.

Nominations were submitted by CIC member organisations and the general industry community. Qualifying nominees must have substantially shaped the industry, as well as demonstrably impacted and helped to define the meetings, incentives, conference, exhibition and travel industries.

Among his key appointments, Wallace has served as UFI president, chairman of UFI’s Asia Pacific Exhibition and Convention Council, the World Council for Venue Management, in addition to his years of service to the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) where he served as president in 1984-85.

The CIC credits Wallace with introducing a radically different financial operating model for government and venue owner/authorities that has become an established industry management option and practice.
