African Bureau of Conventions expands membership to exhibitions

AFRICA – The recently-formed African Bureau of Conventions (ABC) has extended its membership to include event and exhibition organisers.

The first to join is exhibition and event infrastructure and management contractor, Oasys Innovations. ABC said its current members’ conventions had a “strong and buoyant” exhibition component. The strategic move allowed it to continue to provide an all inclusive service for members, clients and the industry. It added the ABC could now address this requirement when bidding for conventions for South Africa and Africa.

Oasys’ core fields include exhibitions, events, audiovisual, equipment hire and electrical connectivity and accessories. Recently, the company built the South African Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.

“We welcome the value Oasys can bring to the bureau and its clients,” directors of ABC, Sharon Peetz and Janine Meyer, said. “In addition, we are excited to announce that through Oasys, the bureau has secured a mega-international event with an international sportsman. It includes a broadcast package to 60 countries and will be possibly viewed by 50m people.”
