UBM Montgomery launches OSH Expo Africa

AFRICA - UBM Montgomery is launching a new African event targeting the health and safety sector.

OSH Expo Africa takes place on 6-8 September 2011 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The event combines UBM Live’s experience of providing media solutions for the health and safety market with Montgomery Worldwide’s expertise in the African market.

The event provides a platform for industry professionals involved in occupational health and safety to explore new products, services and innovations, as well as take advantage of an extensive educational programme.

“With the increasing importance of compliance with health and safety legislation and a rapidly developing infrastructure and multinational investment in sectors such as mining, construction, manufacturing, utilities, oil, gas and transport, South Africa offers a great opportunity for health and safety suppliers and service providers,” said UBM Live portfolio director – Safety and Building Management, Adrian Newton.

The joint partnership has already launched one UK brand into South Africa, IFSEC South Africa, which Newton claims is the “definitive security, fire and protection event for the African market”.

Both companies hope OSH Expo Africa will replicate the success they have achieved within the UK health and safety market, providing European companies with a path to this potentially lucrative market.

Montgomery Worldwide organises the African events Electra Mining and Interbuild, for the mining and construction industries. UBM Live brings experience in providing media channels for the health and safety market including Safety and Health Expo, IOSH conference and exhibition, the online news site SHPOnline, IOSH SHP Awards and the  magazine, Safety and Health Practitioner (SHP).
