Rail transport exhibition steams past 100,000 visitor mark

GERMANY - This year’s rail transport technology trade fair, InnoTrans 2010, attracted more visitors than any other edition in the show’s history.

More than 100,000 visitors from 110 countries attended the eight biennial InnoTrans, which ran from 21 to 24 September at Messe Berlin, representing a 20 per cent visitor growth on 2008. There were also 330 more exhibitors than the previous event, bringing the total up to 2,242.

CEO of exhibitor Siemens Mobility, Dr. Hans-Jörg Grundmann, said: “From our point of view, InnoTrans was a success. The definite interest expressed by many customers is proof that the industry is in good shape.”

The next edition of InnoTrans will take place on 18 to 21 September 2012.
