The Women in Exhibitions Network (WIE) aims to empower women in the exhibitions industry while helping to nurture the next generation of female leaders.
Commenting on the announcement, RX’s head of Inclusion and Diversity, Ray Rhodes, said: “WIE’s mission is perfectly aligned with RX’s, helping us build a global community to better respond to regional and cultural challenges that affect women across the industry, and providing them with networks and programming to help them reach their full potential.”
According to RX, the events company has established gender equity goals that include increasing the percentage of women in management, senior leadership, and technology roles continually over time. More than 140 women and allies at RX have joined WIE so far.
“We’ve learned from our Employee Resource Groups that women really value the opportunity to connect both inside RX and to others in our industry, so that we can learn from, and support each other, to grow careers,” said Gaby Appleton, executive sponsor of RX’s Global Gender Equity Committee.
“This partnership extends an opportunity to do just that for women in our businesses around the world.”
WIE has active local chapters in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the Middle East, and North America. RX has committed to helping establish new WIE chapters in Latin America, France, and Asia Pacific.
