Reed Exhibitions launches new Supplier Diversity Portal for minority businesses

Reed Exhibitions has launched a new Supplier Diversity Portal, which minority businesses are encouraged to join.

The initiative aims to improve supplier diversity, identifying and qualifying suppliers across the sourcing process.

Alan John, project lead and member of Reed Exhibitions’ Global Race Committee, commented: “Supplier diversity is one of the key areas in which we are determined to make a positive impact and lasting change.

“I’m proud to work for a company that offers fair and equal opportunities to its employees, but we also need to be fair in our choice of suppliers to reflect the diversity of our communities. Not only is it the right thing to do, but diversity drives innovation. It’s good for our business.

“If you are a minority-owned, women-owned, LGBT-owned or other diverse supplier to the events industry, we urge you to visit the portal and register. Registration doesn’t guarantee that you will obtain business. The criteria used to select diverse suppliers are the same ones we use to select all suppliers.

“But it does ensure that you have fair and equal opportunity at all stages of the sourcing process, including that critical first stage of identification.”
