RAI Hotel Services and Green Hotel Club link up to promote sustainable accommodation

RAI Hotel Services, the hotel reservation platform of venue RAI Amsterdam has announced a new collaboration with Green Hotel Club, the recently established foundation for sustainability in the hotel sector. The aim is to offer visitors to Amsterdam environmentally friendly and sustainable hotel accommodations.

RAI Hotel Services focuses on providing quality hotel accommodations to guests visiting events and conferences in Amsterdam. Lennart Maas, manager Hotel Services at RAI Amsterdam explains: “RAI Hotel Services is the largest accommodation broker in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Each year we book between 120,000 and 150,000 overnight stays for conferences, fairs and other events. Thanks to the large network of affiliated hotels, we can have an important impact on sustainability in the city and now our visitors can also opt for sustainable hotel accommodation affiliated with the Green Hotel Club.”

88,000 hotel beds
With more than 88,000 hotel beds in Amsterdam, hotels and all their facilities have a major role to play in achieving the climate goals, such as reducing the overall Co2 footprint, the use of local suppliers, the circularity of hotel textiles, the reduction of the use of plastics, etc.

Thijs Koster, programme manager and co-founder of Green Hotel Club, added: “This collaboration between RAI Hotel Services and Green Hotel Club underlines the growing importance of sustainability in the hotel industry and the efforts of both organisations to drive positive change. Our aim is to have more and more hotels and related companies join the Green Hotel Club, so that we can make a (more) impactful contribution to the circular ambitions of the city and continue the hotel industry in a future-proof manner.”
