In an international tendering and application process Deutsche Messe, Hanover, has won the bid to host ITMA 2027.
The world's largest international exhibition for textile and garment technology will be held in Hannover 16-22 September 2027. It is expected to occupy a total space of 220,000sqm of 13 exhibition halls. ITMA is owned by CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, which consists of a total of nine European textile machinery associations.
Deutsche Messe won the bid with its concept which focuses on maximum site flexibility, a high level of service orientation, a modern digital infrastructure and sustainability. The concept was developed and submitted in close co-operation with the capital of Lower Saxony and the office of the Lord Mayor.
“We are delighted that we have been able to attract ITMA, an internationally renowned trade show to Hannover; each edition attracts around 1,600 exhibiting companies from 44 countries and visitorship of over 100,000 from all over the world,” said Dr Jochen Köckler, chairman of the Board of Deutsche Messe. “This is not only a success for us as a preferred venue for trade shows. Hanover's hospitality and hotel industry as well as retail also benefit from it.”
Every four years since 1951 ITMA has been held at different trade show venues, including the cities of Barcelona, Basel, Birmingham, Brussels, Lille, Milan, Munich, Paris and Hanover. Recently, ITMA ran 8-14 June 2023 in Milan.
