The exhibition industry was urged to take action on Global Exhibitions Day as part of a presentation by UFI at its 11th Open Seminar in Asia 2016.

UFI managing director Kai Hattendorf addressed audiences at UFI’s Asia/Pacific Open Day Chapter Meeting, part of the two-day event.

He called on the world exhibition companies and organisations to mark Global Exhibition Day – which takes place on 8 June - in their own unique way. “The day is about raising awareness to key stakeholders in markets around the world about the enormous value of the exhibition industry. We’re asking the industry to mark the day by creating stories and messaging that promotes this.”

Former UFI president Cliff Wallace, meanwhile, used the session to highlight the importance of communicating with global governments about the value of the exhibition industry. “The big challenge we all face is educating our governments. UFI is the best resource to demonstrate this.”
