China – Next year’s food and beverage show, SIAL China, has been scheduled to take place during the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
Last year’s event, organised by the Paris-based SIAL, connected more than 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions with 28,500 trade visitors from 84 countries. The 2010 event is hoped to tap into the predicted 70 million people due to visit the World Expo.
As with SIAL China 2008, the wine components of the show such as the Wine Innovation Forum, a display presenting the worldwide wine markets, and the Best Buy China competition, will continue to cater to the growing Asian wine market. There were 175 wine and spirits exhibitors from 17 countries at last year’s event.
The three-day event, held at the new International Exhibition Centre in Shanghai from May 19-21, comprises an even split of domestic Chinese and international exhibitors.
