Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre has been chosen as the host venue for the debut of the Pizza Pasta & Italian Food Show, which will take place 18-20 May 2025. This new business-to-business exhibition is tailored for pizzerias, Italian-themed restaurants, and foodservice operators.
Australia-based trade show organiser, National Media has launched the event following their recent acquisition of Foodservice Australia and Food & Hospitality Queensland.
“Australia's love affair with pizza and pasta continues to grow, as evidenced by the surge in Italian food imports and the growing pizza restaurant and takeaway industry,” said Mike Hill, Food & Beverage portfolio director at National Media. “To celebrate and further fuel this passion, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Show, an event that will serve as the premier showcase for Australia's pizza and Italian restaurant trade.”
The Australian market has witnessed a significant surge in Italian food imports in recent years, with the value of food and beverage imports from Italy to Australia reaching A$1.13bn – a 15.6% year-on-year increase. This trend, coupled with the $4.6bn value of Australia’s pizza restaurant and takeaway industry in 2023 has helped drive the launch of the Pizza Pasta & Italian Food Show.
“This event is not just a reflection of the current market but a catalyst for future growth, providing unparalleled opportunities for networking, learning, and business development in one of Australia's most beloved culinary sectors,” Hill added.
The exhibition hall will showcase the latest state-of-the-art pizza-making tools, ovens, kitchen equipment, point-of-sale systems, packaging, and marketing and promotional materials, as well as leading suppliers of pizza and pasta ingredients, pizza flour and sauces, beverages, desserts and other products.
The show will also host top-notch education, Masterclasses and competitions and the inaugural Australian Pizza Awards.
