Hamburg Messe gets new chairman

The Supervisory Board of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC) has announced that it has appointed the German state secretary of the authority for economic affairs and innovation, Andreas Rieckhof, as chairman.

Rieckhof became a member of HMC on 15 July, and will succeed Dr Torsten Sevecke (57) who previously held the position from September 2019.

Bernd Aufderheide, president and CEO of the Hamburg Messe und Congress, said: “We welcome state secretary Rieckhof as the new chairman of our Supervisory Board and are looking forward to addressing the key issues of the coming years together with him. At the same time we would like to express our cordial thanks to Dr Torsten Sevecke for the great co-operation.

“Close collaboration between the Authority for Economic Affairs and Innovation and Hamburg Messe und Congress will also greatly benefit the development of Hamburg’s business community.”
