Global exhibition organiser Easyfairs has acquired a 100% stake in Stuttgart-based Untitled Exhibitions and has strengthened its portfolio of events in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region with All About Automation, four regional exhibitions focused on industrial automation.
The current team at these events will continue in place. Tanja Waglöhner will remain MD of Untitled Exhibitions under the Easyfairs umbrella.
This is the second acquisition in Germany this year for Easyfairs and follows the acquisition of the mechanical engineering exhibitions FMB in February. The latest move also underlines the growth and ambitions of the Easyfairs Group in the DACH region.
“Our acquisitions will allow us to utilise the many synergies with regard to content, visitor and exhibitor target groups,” said Roland Brand, Managing Director of Easyfairs DACH. “With their regional concept, All About Automation events fit perfectly with our existing portfolio because, just like FMB and Automation & Electronics Switzerland, they set a clear focus and serve different regional markets.”
Easyfairs’ acquisition of all of the shares and assets of Untitled Exhibitions went through on 5 December 2019.
Untitled Exhibitions launched the All About Automation trade fairs in 2014 and the business model, based on strong regional events focused on industrial automation filled a gap in the existing industrial tradefair landscape.
In 2019, the four All About Automation events in Hamburg, Essen, Leipzig and Friedrichshafen welcomed 600 exhibitors and, organisers say, were characterised by a high degree of customer satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors (over 90%).
Waglöhner added: “Together with a strong and innovative partner like Easyfairs, the regional All About Automation tradefairs can be optimally expanded and positioned on the market. For us, it was important to find a partner who knows what’s important when it comes to regional technology-oriented tradefairs and who understands what we’re doing differently and why.”
Easyfairs currently organises 200 events in 14 countries and employs 750 people, generating revenues of over €167m for financial year 2018/19.
In 2019 Easyfairs was named ‘Best Managed Company’ by Deloitte.
Untitled Exhibitions was founded by Michael Peters, Joseph Rath, Tanja Waglöhner and Udo Weller in Stuttgart in autumn 2012. It developed its own tradefairs and its portfolio includes the All About Automation tradefairs with locations in Essen, Friedrichshafen, Hamburg, Leipzig and Chemnitz.
