CHINAPLAS 2023, an international event for the plastics and rubber industries, opened on 17 April at Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Centre. The show has incorporated a virtual element, providing remote visitors with a live stream available via WeChat.
The Centre has opened all its 18 exhibition halls for the show, resulting in an exhibition area of 380,000 sqm – a new record for the Centre. Under the theme of ‘A Brighter and Shared Future, Powered by Innovation’, the event will be held from April 17-20 and is expecting 3,900 international exhibitors.
The show is also anticipating over 300 delegations, both local and international.
As the first plastics and rubber industry mega event held in China after the relaxation of pandemic controls, the event is showcasing international low-carbon manufacturing solutions.
On the importance of the show to China, and Shenzhen particularly, Stanley Chu, Chairman of the Adsale Group, said: “With the upgrading and transforming of the manufacturing industry in China, the demand for technological advancement will continue to rise.”
In 2022, the sales of new energy vehicles in China have increased by 93.4% and the proportion of clean energy consumption in China has increased to 25% above. To fulfil market demands, the exhibition’s solutions will include over 200 global debut technologies.
The technologies exhibited include swinging robotic arms, automated manufacturing lines, bioplastics, recycled products, and green ‘smart’ technologies among others.
Alongside the exhibition, the show will be hosting several forums and content opportunities. The fourth edition of CHINAPLAS X CPRJ Plastics Recycling and Circular Economy Conference and Showcase took place in Shenzhen on 16 April, one day prior to the show opening.
The Conference was attended by more than 800 senior government officials, global industry organisations, brands, and machinery and material suppliers, who discussed relevant policies and industry trends – in addition to presenting cases of plastics recycling in China and Asia.
