ICC Wales ready for international launch in Barcelona

The new International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) will launch to an international market at IBTM World this week.

The new venue, which has a 4,000sqm pillar-free exhibition hall, has hosted 8,000 delegates during its first two weeks.

The ICC Wales boasts woodland views and Ian Edwards, Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to be launching ICC Wales to the international market at IBTM World this year following an amazing series of opening events. We have created something really special in Wales and we are now extending an open invitation to the world to visit us.

“ICC Wales is a game-changer for Wales and establishes the whole country as a true destination for business events. We are also proud to be supporting the Year of the Outdoors in Wales in 2020 which will showcase our own natural surroundings and the wider landscapes of Wales.”

The Year of the Outdoors next year will include two recently secured major international showcases to be hosted at the newly opened ICC Wales and Celtic Manor Resort. Meet GB, VisitBritain’s flagship event for the international business events community, will take place in April next year, incorporating themes of wellbeing, nature and sustainability.

ICC Wales and Celtic Manor will also host the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) next October - the first time the global B2B event for the golf travel industry has been hosted in the UK.

Wales is home to 200 golf courses.

ICC Wales, Visit Wales and partners will be on stand G30 at IBTM World 2019.
