The UK's Nineteen Group acquires Broden Media

The UK's Nineteen Group has announced that it has acquired Broden Media Limited, the organiser of The Emergency Services Show and publisher of Emergency Services Times magazine.

On the back of the purchase of Western Business Exhibitions and investment from Phoenix Equity Partners last year, the acquisition of Broden Media Limited adds another major event at the NEC in Birmingham to the Nineteen Group portfolio as well as a leading publication with Emergency Services Times.

Broden Media Limited delivers the annual The Emergency Services Show at the NEC, this year taking place on 18-19 September in Hall 5.

The Emergency Services Show is a two-day event bringing together all disciplines from the emergency services sector to discover innovative technologies and operational solutions, share their experiences and unite in their collaborative approach to public safety.

The exhibition is in its 14th year and features over 450 exhibiting companies, including leading names in vehicles and fleet, communications, technology, medical and fire-fighting equipment, search and rescue, extrication, water rescue, first response, protective clothing and uniforms, public safety, vehicle equipment, training, community safety and station facilities. Last year it attracted a record 8,300 visitors.

The acquisition will keep both David Holden and David Brown, Broden Media Limited’s joint managing directors, at the helm and they will both remain as shareholders of the company. The wealth of experience of the Broden Media team combined with the resources available through the Nineteen Group, will help the event to grow even further and continue to provide an improved experience for all who attend as exhibitors, visitors or partners.

Nineteen Group CEO, Peter Jones, said: “As Nineteen Group continues to grow, I couldn’t think of a better event than The Emergency Services Show. It fits perfectly with our current series of, Security, Health and Safety, Fire, Facilities and Disaster Response events, both at the NEC in Birmingham in April and at Olympia in London in December. Our combined databases complement each other in a way we couldn’t have designed better. As the Nineteen Group grows, the strengths, David Holden, David Brown and their team bring from this sector will bring a new strength to the Nineteen Group and help us continue to run and develop a great stable of complementary events, providing the best experience for all of our visitors and exhibitors alike.”

Holden and Brown added: “The opportunity to take Broden Media forward as part of the Nineteen Group is very exciting.  Aligning our complementary events will deliver real benefits for our most important partners, our exhibitors and our visitors alike.  Couple this with the experience and strength of Peter Jones' team and the secure backing of Phoenix Equity Partners and we create the perfect environment to ensure rapid growth to deliver even better Emergency Services shows year on year."
