São Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced the opening of São Paulo Expo and a string of shows for 2016.
The venue will be the largest exhibition centre in Latin America, with an area of 100,000sqm.
US$123,178,637 (R$410m) was spent on the venue by GL events, its largest ever investment.
The space was transformed into a multifunctional architectural complex capable of hosting trade fairs and public conferences and national corporate events and international, as well as cultural, social, sporting and entertainment events.
The Group's resources are were directed to reform the existing pavilion of 40,000sqm and construction of 50,000sqm of exhibition area and 10,000sqm of the convention center and the construction of a parking garage with 4,500 spaces (the largest indoor parking complex in Brazil).
Located ten minutes from the central city airport, São Paulo Expo has quick access to the main hotels in the area, totaling more than 7,500 apartments.
The complex will have restaurants and other services.
The list of confirmed events in 2016 include: Brazil Game Show, São Paulo International Motor Show, Comic Con Experience, São Paulo Boat Show. For 2017, Feicon Batimat has already been confirmed.
