Farnborough International Ltd’s (FIL) commercial director Amanda Stainer has been awarded by the King of Bahrain for her team’s work to deliver the fourth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIA).

FIL provided consultancy to the Kingdom and oversaw the sales, marketing, aircraft participation and operations of the bi-annual aerospace event, which attracted over 30,000 trade visitors and 135 international companies.

Stainer said it was an honour to receive the award. “It has been a complete team effort with everything we have done towards putting on the Bahrain International Airshow.”

FIL has worked with the Kingdom of Bahrain since 2003 in developing the BIA and has expertise in bringing about the long-established Farnborough International Airshow.

For the Bahrain project FIL drew also on a number of leading experts in the events industry, including D2i Systems to manage exhibitor and visitor registration, City Neon for stand building and graphics and Mark Stewart Productions for video content.

Farnborough International has secured £30m funding to expand its existing event and venue business over the next three years and recently appointed a new venue director, Michael Watton. A new, multi-purpose 20,000sqm event space is scheduled to open in Q3 2018.

FIL is a subsidiary company of ADS, the trade organisation advancing UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries. FIL has a three-strand business: as the organiser of the biennial Farnborough International Airshow (FIA), operator of Farnborough International Venue and Events and as international consultants for civil, defence and business aviation events including Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) and India Aviation.
