Ex-MP and Events Industry Board chair Nick de Bois and experiential guru Kevin Jackson are to open UK Events Week with two exclusive sessions, 29 February, involving senior corporate directors at the Conrad St James, London. The sessions will look at the future of the events industry among major corporate businesses.

De Bois will chair a meeting with chief executives and senior marketing directors on how they view the events industry and the impact it has on their businesses.

Findings from the meeting will be shared alongside those from an earlier session that will bring together chief executives and senior management form the UK’s leading experience-marketing agencies. That session will be entitled ‘How do events get on the boardroom table’.

The earlier session will be chaired by Kevin Jackson, director of ideas and innovation at The Experience is the Marketing agency. He joins Deborah Armstrong of Strong & Co, and Michael Wyrley-Birch from TRO agency.

“It’s important that, through these sessions, the industry gets a chance to hear views from outside of the industry as well as inside. So I’m delighted to bring together a senior table of leaders from some of the biggest companies operating in the UK, to really investigate what the events industry means to them,” says De Bois. “The session is closed but we’ll be sharing the outcomes from this, and the earlier session, with the industry to get a 360-degree view from the corporate world.”

UK Events Week takes place 29 February – 4 March. Sessions are now open on the UK Events Week website and event professionals are encouraged to book early for the open sessions and to create their own events as part of the celebratory week.
