Business leaders and socialites gathered for a day of fine food and entertainment at the 12th annual North East Oyster Festival. To coincide with the Rugby World Cup the popular event was taken on tour from its usual home at Hardwick Hall Hotel, County Durham to the specially erected Fan Zone marquee at Newcastle’s Science Central.
Visitors enjoyed performances by comedian Al Murray, Motown legends Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, leading bagpipe band Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Celtic party acts Dublin Raiders and the JJ Galway Band. The event, organised by Ramside Estates, also included a champagne reception, oyster stalls and a three course fruit de mer dinner, prepared by the expert chefs at Ramside Event Catering.
