Social media, hybrid meetings, technology trends and MICE best practice are among the highlights of ibtm China’s knowledge programme, which is open for pre-registration.

The education programme, which includes CMP accredited sessions, will complement ibtm China, on 5-6 August at the China National Convention Centre.

Erica Keogan, ibtm events’ associations and education manager, said the sessions had built a reputation for quality.

“This year we have sourced some original and thought-provoking industry experts to provide unique insights into the latest trends, technological developments and key issues facing the industry and region," Keogan said.

Highlights of the 2015 programme include Great Expectations: The Evolving Landscape of Social Media and Virtual Technology in Meetings, which is offered in partnership with American Express Meetings & Events.

The session will focus on the differences between participant and planner expectations of virtual meetings and social media, as well as exploring the benefits and challenges of using mobile apps at meetings. The session will also discuss the potential return on investment of hybrid meetings.

Liang Tang of Hui Tang will present Views of the Future: Ten Trends in the MICE Industry. Attendees will learn how to deal with emerging trends in international business and technology.

An international panel of experts will share strategies on how to work with host cities, venues, organisers and industry partners to produce memorable events as part of Working With Winners: Best Practices for Successful MICE Events.

Meetings and event planners are encouraged to register early to receive regular updates, free entry, fast-track arrival and discounts at Beijing hotels.

The 2014 edition of ibtm China attracted 3720 visitors, 368 hosted buyers and 449 exhibitors.

ibtm events is part of Reed Travel Exhibitions.
