TAIWAN - The AutoTronics Taipei exhibition saw a six per cent rise in the number of exhibitors at this year’s fifth instalment, which opened yesterday.
A total of 1,011 local and overseas companies are participating, made up from 13 countries including the US, Indonesia, India, the UK and South Korea.
“Most exhibitions in other countries are shrinking in the aftermath of the global economic crisis,” says Bureau of Foreign Trade Director-General, Huang Chih-peng. “I feel this shows Taiwan’s attractiveness thanks to its cluster of suppliers and the overall macroeconomic environment.”
The show also boasts a dedicated electrical and hybrid auto parts showcase for the first time. “The area showcases the technical strength of Taiwan’s development and manufacturing key components for electrical vehicles,” says event organiser Chao Yuen-Chuan.
