Tarsus staffs up in Asia

HONG KONG - International B2B media group Tarsus has appointed former UBM Asia CEO Gary Marshall to head up its operation in Asia.

Marshall, who joins the board as CEO Asia on 31 March, spent 11 years at United Business Media where for six years he was CEO of their Asian B2B business.

After UBM's US$920m acquisition of CMP Media in 2000, Marshall relocated to New York to become president and CEO of CMP Media and chairman of its Asia operations.

Tarsus chairman Neville Buch said Marshall’s track record in Asia will accelerate the company’s growth in one of the company's strongest sectors. "Tarsus' Emerging Markets division continues to grow strongly and constituted a third of Group revenues in 2009,” he said. “This growth has been underpinned by the creation of the vital business infrastructure that is required to support expansion in the region.”
