BCEC secures Queensland Truck and Machinery Show

AUSTRALIA - The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre has secured the Queensland Truck and Machinery Show, organised by the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ), for its 2011 and future shows.

The 42-year-old show will move from its current home at the RNA (National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland) Showground to an all-weather alternative, the BCEC.

“The CVIAQ Board, consisting of industry leaders elected by their peers, has listened to the feedback from our leading manufacturers and has responded by relocating,” says CVIAQ CEO Brett Wright. “The RNA Showgrounds has served our industry well for the last 25 years but the time has come to locate to a venue which offers total all-weather protection.

“It’s simply not good enough in the 21st century that our industry looks to the heavens and prays for fine weather every time we hold an event at a showground - be it Brisbane or elsewhere,” he adds.

CVIAQ president Bob Martin of JOST Australia confirmed the 2011 event will be held at the BCEC on 5-8 May 2011.
