Sweden - The Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre in Gothenburg, home to events such as the Eurohorse and the Gothenburg Boat Show, has appointed a new president and CEO.
Carin Kindbom, currently president and CEO of education and travel company, STS Student Travel Schools, will replace the outgoing Lennart Mankert, who is retiring this year.
“We’ve had many highly qualified candidates, which reflects both the attractiveness of the position and the strength of our business,” says board chairman, Roger Holtback, adding he believes Kindbom possesses the ability and leadership skills required for the continued successful development of the centre.
“The SECC mission is to promote business and industry in western Sweden,” adds Holtback. “One of the main ways it does this is by working closely with business, industry, the university and the municipality. We’re now facing increased global competition with all that this entails in new and exciting business opportunities.”
Petter Ullberg will remain as executive vice-president and deputy CEO, while the current head of the exhibitions and meetings division, Ulrika Carlsson, has been appointed a vice-president.
