Portugal – Porto’s exhibition venue and organiser Exponor is training a retinue of 11 employees from FIL - Luanda International Fair in Angola on how to organise business fairs.
The initiative continues a cooperation agreement between the Portuguese Business Association (AEP) and FIL, which has already led to the creation in the Angolan capital of two replicated Exponor events: Export Home (furniture and households goods) and EMAF/FIMAP/SIEEL (industrial machine-tools and accessories).
Back at home, Exponor is reformatting its Export Home show for 2010 to keep in touch with international trends. The show, which takes place on 2-6 March 2010, is aimed at professionals in the furniture, lighting and household goods industries. The organiser says it is now focused on strengthening the show’s international buyers programme, as well as creating more distinct sectors for visitors and exhibitors.
Export Home director, Amélia Monteiro, says the redesign will reinvigorate the show. “Of course, the original values that inspired it will be asserted, and even strengthened: to enable contacts and the establishment of business relations. To create business opportunities for its exhibitors; to allow them to promote, optimise and transform their business.”
