Singapore - Ahead of its soft opening early next year, Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), says it has 30 events confirmed, including the 11th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC), 5-7 October, 2011.
Held every two years, the WCEC is a key platform for ethnic Chinese entrepreneurs to learn from one another's experiences. It is expected to draw 4,000 business leaders.
RWS chief executive Tan Hee Teck, says: “Our roots date back to our late founder and chairman Lim Goh Tong, himself a self-made Chinese entrepreneur. It is an honour for Resorts World Sentosa to host the WCEC.”
Other major events booked in next year include a Nu Skin Enterprises South-East Asia Convention which is expected to attract 7,000 delegates, and the Asia Pacific Retailers Convention 2011, expected to draw 1,500 guests.
“As the world's economy recovers, we are getting strong interest from organisers for events from 2010 to as far ahead as 2014 and that gives us great confidence in the mid- to long-term,” says RWS MICE director Elena Arabadjieva.
One of two integrated resorts that is being built in Singapore, RWS will incorporate Universal Studios theme park, six hotels and a casino and be able to host up to 35,000 meetings visitors at any one time in facilities that include one of Asia's largest column-free ballrooms, able to seat 7,300 people.
