New Zealand - DMG World Media has sold its stake in the company behind Top Gear Live and ‘Taste Festivals’ in New Zealand.
Brand Events DMG, which produces both the shows, is now fully owned by Brand Events, the UK-based management company, and will continue to trade as Brand Events Festivals.
The renamed company will be headed up by general manager Robert Eliott who first worked for the Brand Events UK office in 2001, and commercial manager Brett MacLeod, who has a background running consumer events in NZ.
The company will continue to develop the Top Gear Live and Taste Festivals, with more consumer event launches in the pipeline.
In July DMG began its withdrawal from the Australasian market, announcing its intention to sell 11 New Zealand shows as part of a global restructure.
The Canterbury Home Show, Auckland Home Show, Auckland Autumn Home Show and Big Boys’ Toys – which was cancelled this year due to a lack of support - as well as the trade shows: Autumn Gift, Winter Gift, Spring Gift, EMEX, Foodtech, Packtech, Hospitality NZ, Build NZ/designEX NZ and Printech are unaffected by the company’s exit from the Brand Events DMG partnership, and are still up for sale.
An announcement on the sale of DMG's business in Australia and New Zealand is expected at the beginning of next month.
